Jack McIntyre is a Guitarist, Vocalist and Songwriter currently living in Australia.

Hi, my name is Jack.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself and why you might want to take Guitar lessons with me.

I have been surrounded by guitar and music since the day I was born. My father was the lead guitarist in a Sydney based Blues band called The Rattlers, and the soundtrack of my early childhood was coloured by the soulful sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan constantly blaring through the speakers.

As a child I spent a few years learning the Saxophone and taking weekly lessons, but it wasn’t until I got my first electric guitar at the age of 12 that a lifelong passion was born.

Throughout my teenage years I took weekly guitar lessons and practiced religiously for hours everyday. At the age of 17, I auditioned and was accepted into the Australian Institute of Music (AIM). I studied full time at AIM for 18 months where I learnt Advanced Music Theory, Songwriting, Keyboard, Contemporary Performance, Composition and Teaching to name a few of my electives. I would perform multiple times per week in front of a full auditorium of students and teachers. It was a fantastic learning experience that improved my guitar playing exponentially.

After starting a few rock and roll bands that didn’t really work out I stopped pursuing music as a full time career and worked a wide variety of jobs over a 15 year period including spending 4 years in the Australian Army. Throughout this time period I continued to play guitar, write songs and work at further developing my craft.

Which brings us up to today. After many years of pursuing other avenues I have finally come back to Music as my main passion and vocation. I spend most of my time now singing, playing guitar, teaching, composing and recording new music. Music is on my mind 24/7.

I am confident that wherever you are at on your musical journey I can help you take it to the next level. Whether that means learning how to play through a song by The Beatles from start to finish, or learning how to shred like Eddie Van Halen, I’ve got you covered.

The great thing about the modern age is that even if we live on opposite sides of the world we can still meet up and jam. I like to use Zoom as I find it is the best platform for online lessons.

All you need is a computer, a guitar and a desire to play music and we can get started.
